New API for iOS, Android + Computers
The SailTimer Wind Instrument RB™ is wireless and solar-powered. To reduce weight so that it moves in the lightest wind, it has a carbon fiber pointer, with a Removable Battery used as the counterbalance in the nose cone. It works with a wide variety of wind gauge, performance and chartplotter apps, and with boats of all sizes.

The new version announced in our previous newsletter has been updated with the NOAA - UK World Magnetic Model (WMM). Plus some other new features, such as transmission speeds of 1, 3, 5, 10 or 20 times per second (Hz). That required a new version of the SailTimer API to receive the Bluetooth transmissions and convert them into NMEA format for viewing. The API is now available in both the Google Play and Apple iOS app stores and has an identical interface on both platforms.

Transmit Directly to Apple Computers
Both the original SailTimer API and the new API-WMM also work on Apple computers with the M1 chip running macOS 11.0 or newer. If your nav station has a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac Mini or the colorful new iMac and that computer uses the M1 chip, you can now transmit directly from your Wind Instrument to the computer. The computer will also be able to run many of the iOS apps that work with the Wind Instrument.
