Monday Funday!

Hi <<First Name>>!
It's Derby Week!
For those of you outside the Louisville area, I am sending a little extra joy this week. I moved here ten years ago and quickly realized that the week before the Kentucky Derby is like an extra week of Christmas.  Our city is a buzz with fun things to do, and while it's not quite the same as it was pre-pandemic, it's certainly encouraging to see this great tradition pick up and resume as we head into more normal times.

My theme this week is sharing. I have links here to sample files that I've used in other projects. I've even made a few other videos for you to check out if you're learning storyline and want to recreate these same effects on your own.

The video I made for this week doesn't touch on what I think is a really important component of the modern way of thinking. We have gone from information scarcity to information abundance. Pre-internet, there were limited ways to share and distribute your ideas. Now anyone with a smart phone can share their ideas for free on a global platform. The problem these days isn't finding information, it's finding the best information. It really is fascinating.

Pre-internet, your smarts were the key asset and that you had to "protect" what you know. Now there's so much information available that it makes sense to share what you know to gain a wider audience. I'm making a real effort to share the work I've done so that others can benefit from it. If you like my work, I hope you consider helping me share with others.

Need a boost? Here's a great set of resilience quotes to help you get your week off to a good start.  Visit this page on success.com to see the full list.
Upcoming Webinar
I'm speaking at the Kentuckiana ATD meeting on May 11th.
My session is called Blended Learning Solutions for the new normal.

I'll be looking at ways to build blended learning for the COVID era using tools like
  • PowerPoint
  • Articulate Rise
  • Articulate Storyline
  • Camtasia
  • Sharepoint or other internal documentation
  • Workbooks
  • QR Codes
I'm doing a one hour lunch and learn presentation, then a longer hands on workshop for anyone who is interested in actually building a prototype for one of the 4 solutions that I'm sharing.
