Wellness Tip: Hydrate Responsibly
It is incredibly important to stay hydrated, especially during the summer months. But proper hydration entails more than having an occasional sip of water. Use these tips below to hydrate responsibly.
  • Avoid buying plastic bottles. Try keeping a reusable bottle with you and drinking it throughout the day.
  • Almost any vessel can function as a reusable bottle. Rinse out your morning coffee thermos, use an old peanut butter jar, or even just sip from a cup.
  • Don't waste water! Use old water to hydrate house plants or rinse your hands.
  • If you’d like to know how much is suggested specifically for you, check out this Hydration Calculator to find out!

New Resource: Seasonal Eating Guide
Seasonal food is fresher, tastier and more nutritious than food consumed out of season. Even though we all like to eat strawberries year round, the best time to eat them is when they can be purchased directly from a local grower shortly after harvest. Seasonal fruits and vegetables produced on local farms are fresher, as they do not require long distances for transport. Also, unlike out of season produce which is harvested early in order to be shipped and distributed to your local retail store, crops picked at their peak of ripeness are also better tasting and full of flavor. What’s more, studies have shown that fruits and vegetables contain more nutrients when allowed to ripen naturally on their parent plant.
