The pandemic meant 2020 was an incredibly tough year for music creators, with many struggling to access the financial support schemes.
As the umbrella body representing the UK music industry, we need accurate data to show the impact Covid-19 has had on music creators.
Every year UK Music produces a major report, which is the key document used by policymakers and industry professionals when discussing the music industry and the challenges it faces. Read UK Music reports here.
The data collected from the UK Music Creators’ Survey plays a key role in developing this important report.
The report helps UK Music analyse key trends and document day-to-day conditions in the music business, enabling year-on-year comparisons as the industry tries to assess the longer-term impact of Covid-19.
Most important of all, the survey allows us to recognise and acknowledge the value creators’ work – and gives us the evidence and data we need to help fight for their interests when engaging with government and policymakers.
The survey is open to anyone who is a full-time or part-time professional music creator. This includes artists, composers, writers, engineers and producers.
We are asking for personal data but all responses are anonymous, confidential, aggregated, and managed in accordance with GDPR legislation.
Just filling in the survey enters you into a prize draw where you could win one of several great prizes: a pair of Sennheiser headphones, a £100 Amazon voucher, a £100 GAK music store voucher or a £100 PMT music store voucher.
