THE HARWICH KINDERTRANSPORT MEMORIAL
& LEARNING APPEAL

Fundraising Campaign Progress: Half-way there

Our JustGiving fundraising appeal continues to blossom, with some generous donations as well as commemorative messages.

"I wish you all success for this important project. We must not forget the humanitarian hand of safety extended to the children fleeing tyranny in Europe in the 1930's." - Steven Frank

The memorial statue will cost £140,000. We are half-way to funding the memorial - The Harwich Kindertransport Memorial Appeal is looking now for a further £70,000 to help complete the statue on the quayside.

We're thrilled to share some photos we took at in Ian Wolter's studio last week!

Honourable History

Harwich is known as a Haven Port for ships at times of adverse winds, and has helped many find refuge, for hundreds of years before the Kindertransport; the Huguenots fleeing persecution in France, and here the Mayflower took on a religious minority to the New World.
QI / Quay Fact
Many of the houses in Harwich have cellars which were interconnecting, facilitating all types of escapes!
Please help us spread the word to others who may wish to follow the project and support it
