Hey  <<First Name>>,

When I first started my business I remember thinking that any small business owner was a great client for me.

I was just happy to work with anyone, and if they would pay then that was great.

However, the longer you are in business the more you realise that type of thinking does more harm.

Just like in all areas of your life, some people get on well together, others not so much.
Some people resonate with you, others don’t.
Some people are FANTASTIC clients, others just aren’t.

While I work on this often, I wish I had worked on it more from day #1.

Being super clear on your ideal client can make your marketing job a whole lot easier.

Not just that they own a house, or they are a professional, or they have a family, or if they are male or female.

That is often the response I receive to the question "Who is your ideal client?" when I am mentoring new clients.

Instead we want to go deeper, understand better.
We want to know how they will be, how they will act, what moves them and what frustrates them. We need to understand what they want from the relationship of you working together.

I included this topic in more detail as part of the Back to Basics - Social Foundations for Success course because it's imperative to our business. Understanding your ideal client is not a five minute task. And it's not done once.

Getting to really know your ideal client will be an ongoing process that will inspire your marketing and influence your services and offers.

How well do you know your ideal client <<First Name>>?

Til next time,

Sharon
