Sophie Barber Kim and Kanye kiss without tongues at Chris Sharp Gallery (May 1 -  Jun 12) Frank Ocean, Harry Styles, and Megan Thee Stallion are given tributes in Barber’s chunky-style portraits that interrogate the enterprise of representation.

Joshua Petker The Flirt at Anat Ebgi: La Cienega (May 1 - Jun 5) Monochromatic paintings of blue and punchy accents of red transport isolated viewers to a romantic and psychedelic world of socializing, drinking, flirting, and music.

Hector O. Hernandez My America Is Not Your America at Studio 203 (May 1 - Aug 1) In response to social unrest, police brutality, and collective suffering, Hernandez presents a cathartic visual timeline through printmaking, drawing, sculpture, and a community-based art project.

Eric Nash All Along the Way at KP Projects (May 1, 2 - 7 pm) Meet the artist behind the charcoal drawings of Los Angeles icons at this exhibition’s opening reception.

 

Ensemble at Château Shatto (May 1 - Jun 26) In a gesture of exchange, Château Shatto asked 7 other galleries to propose artists and artworks for this exhibition that highlights the bonds and curiosities shared between them.

 

of rope and chain her bones are made at Craig Krull Gallery (May 1 - Jul 31) This exhibition unites the work of nine Los Angeles women, with topics ranging from the movement of energy and plastic pollution, to breast cancer and gender fluidity.

 

Sedrick Huckaby Estuary at Phillip Martin (Mar 26 - May 7) Huckaby’s large-scale paintings and sculptures deal with death and the continuation of life in the Black community.
