Grissom High School Class of 2021
Senior Graduation Timeline
For some of these occasions, you will need to wear your Cap and Gown. Any time you wear your Cap and Gown, these standards should apply:
Girls traditionally wear a dress or dressy outfit. Girls should wear appropriate dress shoes that are firmly attached to the heel, to avoid tripping by stepping on the hem of the gown. No flip-flops or tennis shoes.
Guys traditionally wear a collared dress shirt with appropriate dress pants and shoes. A tie is recommended, but not required (except for Baccalaureate). Khakis are fine. No blue jeans, sandals, tennis shoes or collarless shirts (T-shirts).
These dress standards are intended to help maintain the dignified atmosphere that your graduation deserves. Deviation from these standards may result in your removal from the ceremony. Caps and gowns should not be customized or enhanced in any way. Cords and stoles from approved school affiliated organizations will be allowed. Any questions about appropriate dress should be directed, in advance, to the administration, or to Mr. Hurt.

Due to many technical difficulties this year, Grissom has made the decision to administer all AP exams May 3-17, 2021. All exams administered at this time will be paper and pencil exams. The school will ensure adequate social distancing and mask wearing during exams. We will also have testing areas, desk shields, and testing materials sanitized. By administering exams at this time, the counselors will have the needed time to add the GPA bump for graduation and final report cards.
May 18-28, 2021 will be reserved for make-up exams for any student who has an excusable or medical reason not to test when their exam is scheduled. For additional clarification, students will have no choice but to report to the building to test for some exams, as there are several exams that are only offered as paper exams.
If you have concerns about the GHS AP testing plan, please contact our AP Coordinator Stephanie Wallace.
