Old World Excellence

Virtual Wine Tasting  - Friday, April 23rd, 7pm via Facebook Live

In-store Seated  - Friday, April 30th, 7pm @ Vintage Wine Cellars

Classics are classics for a reason. This week we look at some classic old world wines and discuss why their history, the terroir, and the grapes that make these regions special. These three special selections will give you a peek in to some old world excellence.

Available as Virtual and New Seated Format!

In April, we will be alternating our virtual tastings with a new, limited in-store tasting format. These wines will be featured in our virtual tasting April 23 and again on April 30 as an in-store seated format.

Our virtual events will remain the ones you are familiar with - buy the kit with three bottles of the featured wines and taste along with the livestream!

Our new seated format is more restaurant style - not the same as our old seated tastings. We are still focused on safety and will be following "restaurant rules" during this event - masks required except while seated. Your group will be seated at your own table with ~3oz pours of the three featured wines plus a fourth pour of the nights mystery bonus wine and an individual cheese plate (with bread and savories). We will discuss the wines briefly to give you time to enjoy the tasting at your table. Prices for this seated event are $45 per person and sold by the table of 2. Your table will be yours for the evening, and after the tasting wines will be available to purchase by the glass or bottle. Purchase your Table for 2 online - add Additional Seats if you would like to add people to your table - and select In-Store Pickup to reserve your table.

Here are the wines:

Friedrich Wilhelm Gymnasium Riesling Kabinett Graacher Himmelreich Castello Banfi Toscana IGT 'Magna Cum Laude' Marques de Riscal Rioja Gran Reserva

If you haven't tried one of our virtual tastings, here is how it works. We live stream the event on our Facebook Live page  Friday at 7pm. You don't have to buy the wines to join, anyone can watch for free - but it is more fun to buy the tasting kit and taste along. If you would like to check one out, watch one of the replays of a past event.

We are offering this tasting pack for a special deal - order online and you can pickup, have it delivered, or we will ship it to you!

On Friday, join us on our Facebook page at 7PM and we will have a chat. If you miss it, you can watch the replay!

Add a virtual cheese tasting kit for our Olde World Excellence virtual tasting. This week's kit features 3 ~1/4lb pieces of the following cheeses.

Mimolette

Mimolette is a cheese traditionally produced around the city of Lille, France. In France, it is also known as Boule de Lille after its city of origin, or vieux Hollande for being made after the tradition of Edam cheese.

Sottocenere al Tartufo

Sottocenere al Tartufo is a truffle-infused Italian cheese made with pasteurized cow's milk in the northern region of Veneto. Its name meaning "under ash", is derived from the layer of ash that covers the cheese as it ages. It is a pale yellow, semi-soft cheese. Black truffles are added in the paste which is then aged in ashes.

Drunken Goat

Drunken Goat comes from the Murcia region of Spain, which is famous for its Doble Pasta wine as well as its excellent goat's milk. The milk used to make this cheese comes exclusively from Murciana goats. It is high in both fat and protein, giving this cheese its amazing creaminess.
