Program Description:
Simone Joyaux will share insight for fundraisers on partnership in strategic planning and governance, critical to success of any nonprofit.
Everything is connected! Strategic planning belongs to everyone in the organization – and lots of people outside the organization, too. Fundraisers provide fundraising knowledge and community insights to the planning process.
Governance, the collective activity, must listen to fundraisers. Individual board members must follow fundraiser direction. And, fundraisers must be sensitive to the board and its individual board members. If none of this is the case where you work, please attend.

About the Mentorship Lab: AFP South Sound members are invited to participate in small group gatherings on a variety of fundraising topics. Each session will feature a seasoned professional who can answer questions and advise on their chosen topic. Limited to just six attendees, this intimate setting creates a forum for getting to know more of your AFPSS peers, have deeper discussions, and gain new leadership skills.
About the Presenter: Emily Mendez-Bryant's diverse background includes fund development, strategic planning, board and volunteer engagement, relationship building and marketing for over 20 years. She has taken part of successful annual, centennial and capital campaigns. She loves to help individuals and companies with their philanthropy goals, and enjoys bringing people together to address the most critical needs in the community.
