April 22 is Earth Day, and this year’s theme is “Restore Our Earth” which the president of EarthDay.org calls “a critically needed sentiment in a world ravaged by climate change and the pandemic." This week, we’re rounding out the latest news on addressing the climate emergency, and specifically, developments in the art world that are driving the need for radical action. (USA Today)

Awards are intended to help them with various aspects of their work, whether for job-search expenses or purchasing materials for the studio. Learn more.

Submit a Proposal for the CAA 2022 Annual Conference

The CAA Annual Conference is the largest professional convening of art historians, artists, designers, curators, and others in the visual arts. Each year, we offer sessions with a wide range of program content submitted by our members, committees, and affiliated societies. The deadline to submit has been extended to May 12, 2021, 11:59 p.m. (ET).

The Annual Conference Committee & Council of Readers review over 1,000 submissions each year. While the format and framework for CAA 2022 has yet to be determined, we invite submitters to identify whether their content falls into the following three content threads: Women-Centered; Climate Crisis, Social Justice.

Help inform the planning for CAA 2022

We are in the planning process for the CAA 2022 Annual Conference, scheduled to take place February 16–19, 2022 in Chicago, IL. The final format is currently being discussed, as are considerations including the ongoing pandemic, convenience, safety of travel, and cost. Your input will help determine these details, as well as our year-round programming. Survey closes tomorrow Wednesday, April 21, 11:59 p.m. ET.
