Fr. Phil is taking an extended time away to care for his father, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, is undergoing treatment, and needs care in his Maryland home. Taking into consideration that the healing process is not linear and that he himself will need time to refresh, the parish leadership, who work very closely with Fr. Phil on a daily basis, proposed to him that he take some extended time to care for his father and for himself, and he has accepted their offer. This team of leaders and his fellow Jesuits prayed about and planned out a block of time that would allow for him to do both. At this time, we’re not sure exactly how long he’ll be away. As decisions are made, we’ll communicate updates in this newsletter. Please keep Fr. Phil and his father Jim in prayer for healing and for peace.
