A LETTER FROM HEAD OF SCHOOL, RICHARD DE LA CUADRA

Xavier families -

First and foremost, I would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone who attended the Gather & Give Gala on April 8! The FUNdraiser was a huge success and I am so appreciative of everyone who came together to make this event possible. Thank you to our spectacular events team, our generous sponsors, and, of course, our wonderful Xavier community for making this night unforgettable.

It's hard to believe that we are down to the last month before the school year ends, but, rest assured, we are going to end on a high note. This Thursday, April 29, we will be hosting our annual Talent Showcase at Buffalo Bayou Park. Our talented students and faculty have worked tremendously hard to put together an entertaining show for us all and would love your support. We hope to see you at this final event of the school year.

The last day of school will be on Friday, May 28 so please make sure to contact your students' teachers with any outstanding questions or concerns prior to this date. On Sunday, June 6, we will be hosting a graduation ceremony for our wonderful seniors so please stay tuned for further details from our Director of College Counseling, Sara Rosenblum

Thank you for your continued support. Stay healthy and stay safe.

-Richard

GATHER & GIVE GALA

The Xavier Gather & Give Gala on April 8th was a huge success! It was a beautiful evening for families, friends and staff to come together and enjoy each other. The night included entertainment from our talented students who shared their beautiful voices with us during dinner and a phenomenal performance from country band William and the Texas Starlight, led by Xavier middle school teacher William Vonreichbauer. Following the performances was a silent auction that featured amazing items donated by many of our families and local businesses. Thank you to the Swasey family for our Facebook Live presentation and to our decorating crew: Latasha Lathan, Veronica Gonzales, Michelle Caillouet, and Gabby Rodrigues as well as all of our sponsors and donors.

In total, our Spring FUNdraiser raised about $30,000, but it is never too late to help us raise even more! If you would like to be part of our Giving Star Fundraiser, please donate through our website or through Paypal.

XAVIER TALENT SHOWCASE

It is no secret that Xavier has incredibly talented students and staff so once a year,
we host a showcase to bring all the hidden talents to light! On Thursday, April 29th at 7PM, we will be hosting the Xavier Talent Showcase at Buffalo Bayou Park.

The amazing outdoor venue is on the outskirts of downtown and admission is free for all so gather your family and friends, bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an exciting evening of talent. Our National Honor Society will also be selling baked goods so make sure to bring along a few dollars as well. We hope to see you all there!
YEARBOOK PHOTOS

NATIONAL VOLUNTEERING WEEK

In honor of National Volunteering Week, our students and faculty partnered with SEARCH Homeless Services to make Earth Day activity kits for 40 pre-schoolers! Our students hand-painted small plant pots for every child to have as they learn more about nature. We're so proud of our students for their community engagement!
Navigating the college search and application process during COVID-19 has been a learning experience on all ends. We are so proud of our seniors for their perseverance, hard-work, and adaptability during this challenging year. Our seniors worked hard on their college applications, writing creative and heartfelt personal essays, researching colleges virtually or on socially distanced tours, and continuing to keep up with their academic courses and many extracurricular activities. We are proud to share that our seniors have received incredible college admission offers and merit scholarships and it is a very exciting time for them as they consider their options and offers for next year.

While some decisions are still trickling in, so far we have had students accepted to many colleges and some have already committed. We even have two Xavier seniors rooming together next year at Southwestern University! We can't wait to continue to hear updates from the senior class about their plans for next year and we are cheering them on during this exciting time.

Here is a sampling of some of the college acceptances students from the Class of 2021 have received so far: Austin College, Austin Community College, University of Arizona, University of Alabama, University of Arkansas, Baylor University, Concordia University, University of Denver, Gonzaga University, University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, Houston Community College, Fordham University, Furman University, Lewis and Clark College, Marymount Manhattan College, St. Edward's University, St. Thomas University, Southwestern University, Texas A&M University, Trinity University, University of Texas at Austin, University of Oregon, University of San Diego, University of San Francisco, Schreiner University, University of Wisconsin, University of North Texas, University of Missouri, and more! To view the list of colleges attended by Xavier alumni, visit our college counseling page below.

Please remember each senior is operating on their own timeline and should share their good news with you when they are ready. We can't wait to celebrate our graduates on June 6th!
