The Women's Mosque of America

:: In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate::

Salaam!

How was your first week of Ramadan? We hope you've been enjoying our groundbreaking #HistoricMuslimah Ramadan series! Have you ever seen anything quite like it? Neither have we! :)

What makes our new Ramadan #HistoricMuslimah series so unique? The way it highlights the diversity of our Ummah while simultaneously featuring modern day Muslim women sheroes who are themselves making history as our khateebahs, mu'adthinahs, and female mosque leaders! Best of all, through this series, Muslim women are taking back our narrative and setting the record straight on the incredible impact and legacy that Muslim women have left on Islamic history.

In addition, last week, we launched our new Ramadan Wellness Wednesdays series in order to respond to the needs of Muslim women during Ramadan to stay active and care for themselves first. Through this new series, we are encouraging Muslim women to take care of themselves with self-love first before they give to others throughout the month of Ramadan -- a month that can often be taxing on Muslim women through the various roles they play in our communities and families.

All of this amazing new programming has been made possible this Ramadan due to our generous supporters who signed up last year as monthly recurring donors. If not for your continual support throughout the past year, we would not have been able to offer any of this new programming. Thank you to our existing supporters; we hope you will renew and consider increasing your support this year.

This Ramadan, we have set the ambitious goal to raise $24,000 so that we can not only continue our monthly jumma'a services, but so that we can finally begin to expand our team, our programming, our mission, and our historic vision in the coming year! Will you help us expand our mosque and movement to uplift the Muslim community by empowering Muslim women and girls?

If you are considering a donation for the first time, thank you! A gift in any amount helps, and recurring monthly donations are what help us the most as they allow us to plan ahead for the future. Please consider giving $6/month to celebrate our 6 year anniversary this past January.

With your help this Ramadan, we are now set to expand our team and vision for the next phase of our mosque and movement, inshAllah (God-willing).

If you are unable to give this year, we ask you to keep us in your duas and prayers this Ramadan and also to
let us know which #HistoricMuslimah is your favorite & why -- SHARE and tag us on social media. We can't wait to hear from you!

We wish you and all your loved ones a wonderful second week of Ramadan filled with increased peace, tranquility, ease, and nearness to Allah. Ameen!

With Love and Gratitude,
The Women's Mosque of America Team

P.S. Would you like to see our mosque and movement expand this year? Sign up to give a recurring gift of $6/month: Make your contribution now.

"Learning How To Pray"

This Ramadan, on Tuesday nights, The Women's Mosque of America has started hosting online "Learning How to Pray" discussions for our New Muslims, Converts, Reverts, and Ansars ("Helpers" who want to mentor new Muslims).

These workshops are serving as an informal discussion series for new Muslims to get to know each other, set specific goals regarding prayer and Ramadan, and get started on learning how to pray.

If you would like to RSVP for this event series or be added to our Convert Care email listserve, please email MHasnaM@womensmosque.com and let us know if you identify as a New Muslim, Convert, Revert, Ansar, or if you are simply curious to learn more about Islam.

We look forward to meeting you!
We at The Women's Mosque of America are incredibly excited to bring you the second in our Ramadan Wellness Wednesdays series with personal trainer Sofia Ghani! Join us tomorrow @ 8:45pm PST!

InshAllah this will be a fun way for women and girls in our community to stay active, strong, healthy, and energetic throughout the month of Ramadan.
