In this week's newsletter, we learn the CSU system is planning to require COVID-19 vaccinations in order to return to campus in fall 2021. Sac State students respond to the Derek Chauvin verdict. CSU to require COVID-19 vaccination for fall 2021 semester

The California State University system announced Wednesday that it will require faculty, students and staff to be vaccinated in order for them to access campus in the fall.
The requirement will only be implemented if the Food and Drug Administration fully approves the vaccines.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of the murder of George Floyd. Sac State students voiced their opinions on the trial results.
“The justice system needs to be consistent with these types of verdicts to ultimately stop the unarmed killings of innocent civilians everywhere,” Marcus Butler, a communication studies major said. “There is still much work to be done.”
'Excited to go back': Sac State students weigh in on fall 2021 teaching modalities

Students shared their mixed feelings about going back to in-person classes for the first time since COVID-19 began. While many students are excited to return to campus, they also worry about what safety precautions will be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“The biggest thing is to make sure the admin takes the right steps to keeping all of the students safe, and making sure that everybody continues to feel comfortable,” said Erin Wardle, an interior design major.

Four months were spent building the new 26,000 square foot court located on the west side of campus. The newly developed facility neighbors both the softball stadium and tennis courts.
