Dear Nefesh Community,
It is a relief to hear the verdict in the Chauvin trial this afternoon. There has so rarely been accountability for unjust murder of Black people in this nation. May this accountability continue and continue into transformation and liberation. My heart is also filled with grief for the family of George Floyd. No verdict will bring him back. May they be comforted in their grief by the arms of many and may we all work with tremendous perseverance to make his memory be for a blessing, zichrono l’vracha
Watch our Community Weaver Ian’s Hashkiveinu, which shares ways to plug-in to doing justice work. If you already work or dedicate a significant portion of your life to social justice, we have our first Lev Shalem (Whole-hearted) circle for connection, and spiritual resources to support those already engaged this Sunday 4/25 at 5PT. We also encourage those committed to social justice as a volunteer and/or staff person to add your info to our Nefesh Social Justice directory.
It was good to be with you this past Shabbat. We heard about our upcoming return to safe in person services on June 18. More information to come and know that we will always offer a way to connect virtually even when we meet in person.
More offerings and dates below.
Blessings of perseverance,
The Nefesh Team
