This spring we conducted work to restore the heavily worn and eroded path along the Great Ridge. This work will protect the habitat surrounding the route by helping walkers to keep to the path. It will also improve conditions underfoot, making the route safer, more accessible and visually in keeping with the landscape. 

For our conservation and land management team there is no such thing as a 'one size fits all' approach to peatland restoration, as we found when we were called upon to restore moorland in the shadow of a wind farm.

This April we celebrated the 70th Birthday of the Peak District National Park. As part of this, the work of Moors for the Future Partnership and the importance of peatland was captured in the third part of Mark Gwynne Jones' evocative soundscape Voices of the Peak, where Chris Dean talked about the challenges facing the area.

Following over a year of enforced absence from our face-to-face engagement, our Bogtastic van is preparing to go back on the road again, taking the Bogtastic message to communities around the Peak District and South Pennines.
