Pictured below are 10 well-dressed, hard core souls who braved the chilly/cold/windy conditions as well as a couple "snowflakes" to ride this past Tuesday. Not pictured are those who chose to spend the evening sipping an adult beverage next to their respective fireplaces😊
Before the ride Jeff noticed a broken spoke on his bike and in the Spinner Spirit here is what happened per Jeff:
This year’s Friends of Rock County Parks ride will be visiting the Rock County Parks in the southwestern portion of the county. The rides of length 21, 31, 38, 55 & 64 miles will start and end at Beckman Mill County Park on Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. Individuals $20, Family $30.
Here are the routes from which bicyclists can choose:
Here are the Strava routes that I created for the May 22, 2021 FORCP Beckman Mill ride. I will also create GPX & TCX files for people that are not using Strava.
This is a very well organized Tour/Ride and our Spinner Friend Lon Haldeman and wife Susan work very hard to make this a very enjoyable experience.
Here are some volunteer opportunities for those interested...
Hello Rick:
Roun'da Manure Bicycle Tour is looking for volunteers for the following positions and times:
Parking Attendants looking for 2 to 3 people to work from 6 am to 10 am
Flaggers looking for 1 to 2 people to stand at the stop sign of Martin Street and Church Street to direct bikers from 7 am to 10 am
SAG Drivers 4 to 8 volunteers to work from 7am to 2pm or in shifts if we have more than 4
Food Service 4 to 8 to work in shifts for prep of the luncheon crowd and clean up. This can start anytime after 8am to start the prep, the committee can talk with you beforehand to let you know what all needs to be done and assess how long you are able to volunteer. The committee members that are working Registration can fill in once all of the bikers are out, that way if you want you can go ride yourself.
If anyone is interested in helping with any of the above please contact Koren Dykstra by email at k17dykstra@gmail.com or call or text at (262) 949-5103. Anyone that volunteers has the option of working for a couple of hours and then riding the loops themselves for free. Please just let Koren know if you would also like to ride after you volunteer so we can have a packet for you.
Thank you
Koren
