Welcome to Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire News

Welcome to our weekly newsletter.

In this week's email:

  • Reminder: Claim your CPCS £300 set up fee and checking nhs.net emails for referrals
  • Flu Training Facilitation Interest Survey
  • PSNC Negotiations on CPCF arrangements for Year 3 of the CPCF announced

Reminder - Claim your CPCS set up fee by 30th June 2021 and checking nhs.net email for referrals

Don't forget, there is still time to claim your CPCS £300 set up fee. Currently less than 20% of Lincolnshire based pharmacies registered to offer the service have claimed their £300 set up fee for the CPCS service by completing and submitting Annex F. Almost all CPL pharmacies are registered for the service so please do check and make sure you claim if you haven't yet done so.

NHSE&I and DHSC agreed to extend the period during which the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) engagement and setup payment for the GP referral pathway may be claimed by contractors. The payment can now be claimed by contractors, once they have undertaken the necessary activities, up until 30th June 2021 (with claims needing to be submitted via the NHSBSA’s Manage Your Service portal by 5th July 2021).  Full details on how to complete Annex F were included in the GPCPCS update we sent out at the end of March, which can be accessed here.

Although the GPCPCS service is not fully rolled out across Lincolnshire as yet, you may still receive some referrals either from individual practices who wish to use the service or from cross county border referrals via the short pharmacy nhs.net email system, especially as we move into the summer season and holiday makers visit Lincolnshire, so please do make sure you check your pharmacy nhs.net inbox 3-4 times a day to make sure you don't miss any referrals.

Local Flu Training Interest Survey - deadline 7th May 2021

Last week we sent out a survey, that should take no more than 4 minutes to complete, to all of your short pharmacy nhs.net emails to gauge interest in CPL facilitating local flu training delivery. If you haven't yet responded, please could you have a look and complete the survey by the deadline of 7th May.

In order to deliver flu vaccinations, pharmacists are required to renew their vaccination training every three years.

Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire recognises the benefits that local training has in a rural county with fewer public transport network links.

We are therefore looking to understand whether LPC facilitation of local vaccination training be desirable. Such training would NOT be funded by Community Pharmacy Lincolnshire, but would be provided at cost to contractors.

This survey is to assess the appetite for flu vaccination training facilitation amongst contractors including the best days and locations for delivery.

Final costs are not yet available, as they will depend on numbers and venues, but it is anticipated that the cost of flu vaccination training would be around £100 per person for half a day.

Please can you answer the questions at the survey link here by 7th May 2021 so we can assess contractor requirements.

Please note that completing the form is no guarantee that training will be provided, or a commitment from you to attend any training events; it's simply a way for us to understand the levels of interest at this time.

Thank you.
