The next Special Planning Committee meeting to consider the first draft of the revised TML Official Plan, will be held on Monday, April 26, at 9:00 a.m. This will be a virtual meeting, and will be available on the TML YouTube channel, where you can watch live, or view the recorded meeting at a later date.
It is anticipated that a discussion of Aggregate Extraction policies will take place early in the meeting. These policies are very significant in terms of our efforts to stop the proposed Lippa quarry. If the protections against threats posed by Aggregate Extraction operations in the existing TML Official Plan, were to be diluted or removed, as would be the case if the policies in the draft OP were to be approved, then this would greatly enhance the likelihood that the Lippa quarry application, or a similar application, would be successful.
Following this meeting, another update will highlight the key outcomes, and provide a video link to the specific time where the Aggregate Extraction policies are discussed.
