Library Service to Patrons with Disabilities
Online Training Module available 24/7 through CALL Academy
Are you interested in making your library more accessible for people with disabilities? As part of an IMLS grant, Infopeople, the Califa training arm, collaborated with Syracuse University and Project ENABLE to develop this unique course using a series of challenge and solution videos. 

Verbal Intervention Training
Thursday, June 3 or Thursday, July 15 | 9:00 a.m. | Five hour course
Verbal Intervention (VI) trains staff to respond to crisis situations with a focus on de-escalation techniques and safe, non-restrictive interventions.  A few seats remain for the June 3 session, and more are available for July 15. CALL is accepting applications from library jurisdictions, rather than individuals. Each jurisdiction may apply for one to six seats, and we’ll allocate according to demand.

ALA Annual Conference 2021

Want to attend the American Library Association's virtual Annual Conference, June 23-29, 2021? CALL has a limited number of seats available for qualified applicants. Recipients must attend at least two full days, or four half days and report back on what they learned. Apply to attend ALA Annual 2021.

Crafting Inclusive Volunteer Recruitment Messages

Thursday, May 6 | 10:00 a.m. | 90 minute workshop
Language matters! Are the words you are using in your volunteer recruitment messages excluding identities and experiences? Join Wendy Roberts of the Minnesota Association of Volunteer Administration to learn how to make your volunteer recruitment message more inclusive to communities of color. You will have an opportunity to see inclusive recruitment message examples, discuss inclusive language and workshop your recruitment message with other volunteer engagement leaders. 

NOTE: Participants are encouraged to bring their volunteer recruitment messages to share and edit in small groups during this 90-minute Zoom workshop.
