From Council

Koinonia physicians (David Herr and Sherri Helms) and Ellen Ireland met with the Council and Gathering Team on March 16th to review current health department data and vaccine information. There was consensus in this group to begin in-person Gatherings and our first Sunday inside the sanctuary was on Sunday, April 11. There was also consensus that we will wear masks and be mindful of physical distance as we continue to monitor conditions. Group singing will not yet take place indoors and we'll seek creative ways to safely incorporate music into our Gatherings. Allison plans to help us live stream and/or record Gatherings. With vaccines now being available to all who seek them, we are hopeful that this will help ensure that most members will have been vaccinated.

Thanks to all who have helped to keep Koinonia viable and connected as we continue to navigate the pandemic. As spring brings transitions, may we find renewal and ways to celebrate reunions. May gratitude and new insights guide our journey forward. Please reach out to the Council if you have ideas or suggestions. Contact council@koinoniagj.org

We want to continue to support Koinonia's dedicated staff and care for the facility, so as always, your financial contributions are greatly appreciated. Although our expenses have been lower during the pandemic, so has our income. We are currently about $1300 in the red. You can mail a check or use this secure link to donate.

Please reach out with your ideas and requests. Contact council@koinoniagj.org.

Happy Birthday from Your Koinonia Community!
Joys, Concerns, Prayers....
You are invited to share the circumstances that are touching your heart in recent days. Please contact Allison at (admin@koinoniagj.org) or Ellen (director@koinoniagj.org) if you have joys, concerns, prayers... that you would like to share with the community.

May we pause to hold in our hearts these and other joys and concerns of our beloved community of meaning.

The rise in rhetoric and violence
against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders has no place in our communities or country.

We stand with our neighbors especially Unitarian Universalist Church of the Grand Valley against hate and all racist speech and actions.

For families and friends grieving the deaths of loved ones from Covid-19,
especially Norah, Roger, Jerry and Tom…

For food insecure residents and unhoused persons in Mesa County and everywhere,

For President Biden and Vice-President Harris and their families,

For national and global leaders,

For Black, Indigenous, and People of Color suffering the greatest hardships,  especially for Navajo People in Chinle, Arizona,

For the Rohingya people
, one of the most persecuted groups on earth right now.

For all healthcare workers who are saving the lives of others while risking their own.

For strength and courage to keep going in the midst of this pandemic and current political unrest,

For all the children and animals that depend on us,

For the continuous healing of our Earth.

May we all make peace
with each other.
