Messy Clothing
If your child comes out of Pre-School with paint in their hair, mud on their trousers, and yoghurt down their top, then think about what a wonderful day they must have had! They've obviously been creating wonderful masterpieces with paint, getting plenty of fresh air and exercise outside, and learning to independently feed themselves at Lunch Club.
We encourage our children to get stuck in and learn through play, and for Pre-School aged children it is often the messy activities that they enjoy the most! We can guarantee that your child will not have been bored or spent their day doing sit down work.
You might be worried that your child got messy while they weren't being properly cared for. Please be assured that your child's keyworker - and all the staff at Pre-School - have been supervising your child throughout the day. Your child's keyworker knows your child's interests and needs, have spent time planning a challenging activity for them and the other children, run around putting aprons on everyone involved (and trying to encourage them to keep them on!), AND worried that you might be concerned about the paint in their hair!
We understand that parents/carers have paid good money for the clothes that their children wear, and yes, that red paint might not come out easily. We ALWAYS encourage children to wear aprons for messy activities, but it's not always possible to protect their clothing entirely.
Please ensure that your child wears clothes that you are happy for them to get messy!
