Today on Twitter someone shared a poem from a young person. I'm going to share it with you:

Let me be,
let me go,
let me be happy
and not sorrow

Let me play,
let me dance,
let me go
be happy!

Stop keeping me in
let me out,
I need my friends...
they need me!

I miss the wind
in my face, As I
run through
the fields

I miss dancing
I miss my friends,
I miss my old
life, Let me go!

Yours, a sad kid

Living in Florida as I do, it's easy to forget that in many places madness still reigns. They can't admit it does no good at all, even though the chart in yesterday's email, comparing hospitalization rates in the 25 strictest states and the 25 least strict states, showed no difference. The disgraced public health establishment cannot admit that it ruined people's lives, decimated their savings, and caused all kinds of horrific collateral health damage, so they have to go on pretending. Same with the politicians.

Meanwhile, you have the ordinary people whose lives are so meaningless that they can find fulfillment only in false demonstrations of superiority over others -- and the pointless so-called mitigation measures are perfect for that.

So we have the sad kid who wrote the above. Meanwhile, here are the new pool rules at 3481 Stancrest, a private condominium association in Montrose, California. See if you can spot any science in any of this -- or conversely, count up how many measures have long since been abandoned even by the official sources (3481 Stancrest still thinks the virus is transmitted via surfaces!), but doggone it they'll still be enforced at 3481 Stancrest, sensible or not! We must suck the life out of everything!

Here goes:

The LA County Dept of Public Health determined that public and community pools and spas can re-open. We do not have to open the pool or the spa. We are doing so at the request of many of our owners. However, if we feel that the following LA County Public Health Department guidelines are not being upheld by those using the pool or spa, we will be forced to close it again.

  • Do not enter if you are feeling sick or have symptoms consistent with Covid -19.

  • There can be no more than 12 People in the Pool at any given time. You must keep a safe social distance.

  • There can be no more than 1 household in the Spa at any given time.

  • Maintain a 6-foot physical distance from non-household members inside and outside of the pool and common areas.

  • Do not move tables, chairs, or lounge chairs.

  • Face covering is required at all times in the common areas.  This applies to all adults and children 2 years of age and older. (except while in the water)

  • Wash hands often or use sanitizer upon entry into the pool facility.  Residents need to provide their own hand sanitizer.

  • Wipe down all surfaces including handrails and furniture with sanitizing wipes after each use. The association makes no representation with regards to the surfaces being sterile.

We know this all seems excessive, but it is ultimately to protect our owners/residents. Thank you for your cooperation.

Give that sad kid his old life back, you superstitious lunatics.
