YOU'RE INVITED!

Dear friends,

We're very excited to share two upcoming events that may be of interest to you. Next Wednesday, May 12th, FYF Executive Director Pari Ibrahim will testify before the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom on USG policy surrounding genocide determination and how to improve the U.S. response to mass atrocities. This hearing will feature panelists discussing the Yezidi, Rohingya, and Uighur genocides, and is open to Members of Congress, their staff, and the public.

This event will take place from 10:30am-12:00pm EDT.

The following week, on Wednesday, May 19th, FYF and the Wilson Center will co-host a discussion on how the Biden Administration can develop policies in Iraq and Syria to protect Yezidis and other minorities from further persecution. Two years after the military defeat of ISIS, Yezidis are still in danger from militias and Turkish airstrikes in Iraq and Turkish-backed militias in Afrin, Syria. A comprehensive policy addressing the Yezidi community's challenges, particularly in Iraq, is urgently required.

This event will take place from 1:00-2:30pm EDT.
