This photo was taken at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida on our trip last month to Miami. It has this really cool lit-up water feature with tall walls of green plants all around. The hotel there is shaped like a guitar - really a sight to see! We didn't stay there, but it looks like their pool area is really beautiful, too.
I did a 20+ hour stream on Twitch last week to celebrate 4,000 followers and had so much fun - I'm so grateful that I still love live streaming even 4+ years down the road. Since adding on the real estate side hustle, it's taken a lot of the pressure off of my live streams to be profitable, and now that I can just focus on having fun - it seems to really be helping me on that front, too! Isn't it funny how that works? Relaxed, playful energy is so much more enjoyable than stressed, sales-y energy. It seems obvious, but sometimes it's difficult to relax when you're stressed. I'm really enjoying the real estate business - and working with Ed - so it's putting me in a much better spot.
I finished my semester off with straight A's! That's freeing up time in my schedule to focus on the businesses and my work with CASA. In the fall, I officially start at the university which I'm excited about. After that semester, I'll have my Bachelor's degree - hooray! I might reach out to the positive psychology department at UPenn to see what kind of opportunities they might have for me as I think about the ways in which I can apply my degree.
I'm still finding the CASA volunteer work deeply rewarding. In one instance, DCP&P (the Division of Child Protection & Permanency in New Jersey) basically asked for me to be taken off a case, and the judge decided he wanted to keep me on! That took me by surprise - and I took it as a major encouragement to keep doing what I'm doing and advocate for these teens the best way I know how. I don't have to worry about what DCP&P might think or feel about having me on their case - as long as I'm not breaking any laws, the courts have my back. I had a nice breakfast with 3 of the CASA supervisors in this area, too. They definitely have my back as well - and I'm feeling good about having people to hang out with face to face that share similar interests with me. My first CASA charity stream on Twitch was a success with over $2,000 raised in about 5 hours! Thank you to everyone who supported during that.
I finished the Willpower book and now I'm reading one called 8 Great Smarts - about the 8 types of intelligence in kids. Its author is very Christian, so it includes a lot about spirituality and Jesus, but it's fine so far. I enjoy parenting books because they're outside of my normal reading menu.
