MyClinic is GROWING to serve our community

In the Fall of 2020, MyClinic was approved as a Sub-Recipient of the Town of Jupiter for funding under the federal Community Development Block Grant- COVID emergency response program (CDBG-CV).

This grant award of $153,000 is being used to fund a portion of the cost related to expanding our current building to accommodate infection control guidelines and program growth.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted individuals and families in so many ways. Loss of employment, health insurance, housing and food insecurity are just a few of the issues being faced by many for the first time in their lives.

In addition, far-reaching mental health implications are profoundly affecting children as well as adults. With these factors in mind, this expansion project will provide additional space to provide services to a greater number of people in need in a safe and healthy environment.

The new space will also incorporate an “affiliate office” that will enable outside social service agencies to rotate through MyClinic, bringing services such as: Legal Aid, Food Assistance and Insurance Benefits Eligibility directly to the people who need it most.

COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

MyClinic staff and volunteers have been hard at work connecting people in need with information and vaccinations. As the eligibility guidelines expanded, so too did our efforts to help people schedule appointments and gather documentation.

In addition to assisting several hundred people schedule their vaccines, MyClinic volunteer doctor and Medical Director Dr. Catherine Drourr, spearheaded an effort to personally vaccinate MyClinic clients. When Jupiter based private practice physician Dr. Drourr received additional doses of COVID-19 vaccines at her office, her staff was excited to reach out to their patients to schedule appointments.

Fortunately, many had already been vaccinated through other access points. That is when Dr. Drourr realized that she could utilize her services and supplies to truly impact the greater community by offering vaccines to people in need, right in her home town.

As an active Board Member and volunteer Medical Director at MyClinic, Dr. Drourr has first-hand knowledge of the unique challenges and obstacles faced by community members who have limited financial resources, language and technology barriers and lack transportation.

Within just a few short days, Dr. Drourr worked closely with MyClinic to contact clients, schedule appointments, and coordinate supplies including vaccines generously donated by other private practitioners in the area.

On Sunday, April 11, 2021, Doctor Drourr worked tirelessly to personally administer 85 COVID-vaccines at her conveniently located office. MyClinic staff and volunteers were on hand to check in patients and keep things organized.
Vaccine recipients, many of whom have personally experienced the devastation caused by COVID-19, were extremely grateful for the opportunity to protect themselves and their community. They were so thankful that they did not have to miss a day of much needed work or navigate a complicated bus schedule to get to a public vaccination site.

Dr. Drourr and MyClinic take great pride in their role as a trusted resource for people in need. Together, they have once again demonstrated their ongoing commitment to improving health and quality of life for our most vulnerable neighbors.

In Memoriam

On March 21, 2021, MyClinic mourned the passing of our beloved volunteer physician Dr. Duke Gocke. Dr. Gocke was the kindest, most dedicated and compassionate person and friend of MyClinic. He treated patients and staff alike with the greatest respect - always with a smile.
Our lives are forever enriched for having shared in this season of Dr. Gocke's life. Dr. Gocke’s legacy will continue through our work and in our personal lives. The lessons he taught by his own example went far beyond medical care.

Our deepest sympathy and thank you to Dr. Gocke’s family for sharing Dr. Gocke with MyClinic and our community - he will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.

Dr. Gocke’s family has generously requested memorial donations to MyClinic in honor of Dr. Gocke’s service. MyClinic’s Board of Directors is so grateful for this gesture and has set up the Dr. Duke Gocke Memorial Fund which will be used to support efforts to inform and provide access to healthy foods that appropriate for people living with chronic medical conditions and nutritional deficits. This program will be advised by Dr. Gocke’s daughter, Mary Gocke, who is a Registered Dietician and Nutrition Counselor.
