  • Phew, yesterday's weather was nasty. I even saw some pictures of snow on Facebook, and it was sticking for a minute. There's a frost advisory until 8 a.m. today, but then we'll climb to a high of 56 and some sunshine later in the day. Fifty-two tomorrow with rain and possible hail.

Winning ticket

Proof that somebody is winning those scratch-offs

Ravenna resident Allison Snyder won a $1 million prize on a $30 scratch-off lottery ticket she bought in Kent.

  • Rather than $40,000 a year for 25 years, Snyder opted for the cash payout totaling $500,000, which comes out to $360,000 after taxes, reports WKBN.

  • She's going to pay off her student loans and buy a boat.

'It shows the Jeff I remember'

In April 1970, a 17-year-old girl gave a hitchhiker a ride to Kent State. She and her friend snapped this photo of Jeffrey Miller in the back seat of her Chevy three weeks before the National Guard killed him.

Russell Miller shared the photo and his interaction with Denise Litton, who reached out to him Thursday morning to offer this picture of his brother and its backstory. Read his full post here and look in the comments for her initial message.
