May's theme for Soul Food Sundays is Rest

Rebellious Joy. Rebellious Joy. Rebellious Joy. Do you think joy can be rebellious? Can rebellion be joyous?

Rebellious joy is the theme for Seventh Wave Magazine's recent issue. I'm so grateful to have been the featured artist for this issue. Seventh Wave is particularly intentional about "publishing people not pieces." The process of creating and editing work with Seventh Wave is particularly community oriented, and it's been joyous and insightful to spend time meditating, reflecting, and dreaming in community with the Seventh Wave team.

I have three poems in the recent issue, collectively titled Related to Rhythm. The 3 poems are titled Power Play, A Drum in 3 Sounds, and Describing Warmth.
