Weekly News

Dear friends,

Today is Ascension Day when we celebrate the Risen Christ ascending to his Father in heaven. For some time after his resurrection from the dead Jesus appeared to his disciples, to reassure and teach them. At the Ascension he leaves them but then becomes forever present with his Church through the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. We will celebrate the Ascension this morning at mass and again on Sunday. Click here for the Scripture readings for Sunday.

Sylvia Brantingham
Sylvia's first anniversary of death falls on The Feast of the Visitation (31st May), and the 9.30am mass on that day will be offered for her. On Saturday the 5th June at 3.30pm there will be a short memorial service in church and burial of her ashes in the church garden, followed by a tea party. All welcome.

Thank you to all those who helped make the Festival on Tuesday such a wonderful occasion!

New Book
Congratulations to Matt Shaw, a member of our congregation, who has just published his latest book. Click here to find out more.

Prayers for those in need
From Trinity Sunday, 30th May we will be renewing our list of those we pray for on Sundays. If you would like a name to remain on the list please let me know otherwise they will be removed.

The 29 Club
We are now registering new members of the club, please to speak to Mary Kavanagh if you would like to join. Membership begins at £1 per week and every Sunday you will be entered into a draw to win £10. There are only a few places left!

See you on Sunday
