Weekly News
Dear friends,
Today is Ascension Day when we celebrate the Risen Christ ascending to his Father in heaven. For some time after his resurrection from the dead Jesus appeared to his disciples, to reassure and teach them. At the Ascension he leaves them but then becomes forever present with his Church through the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. We will celebrate the Ascension this morning at mass and again on Sunday. Click here for the Scripture readings for Sunday.
Sylvia Brantingham
Sylvia's first anniversary of death falls on The Feast of the Visitation (31st May), and the 9.30am mass on that day will be offered for her. On Saturday the 5th June at 3.30pm there will be a short memorial service in church and burial of her ashes in the church garden, followed by a tea party. All welcome.
Thank you to all those who helped make the Festival on Tuesday such a wonderful occasion!
