Holding Space

Join us for a three-part roundtable that explores the intersection of museum education and trauma. Holding Space: A Roundtable Conversation on Trauma and Teaching in the Museum celebrates the incredible work museum educators do for their communities. The roundtable was recorded on January 29 and edited for clarity. The editors of this series hope that the experiences shared will model trauma-informed practices that are applicable to a variety of classroom settings, both within and outside of museum spaces. Watch the recordings.

Submit a Proposal for the CAA Annual Conference

The CAA Annual Conference is the largest professional convening of art historians, artists, designers, curators, and others in the visual arts. Each year, we offer sessions with a wide range of program content submitted by our members, committees, and affiliated societies. The deadline to submit has been extended to May 12, 2021, 11:59 p.m. (ET).

The Annual Conference Committee & Council of Readers review over 1,000 submissions each year. While the format and framework for CAA 2022 has yet to be determined, we invite submitters to identify whether their content falls into the following three content threads: Women-Centered; Climate Crisis, Social Justice.
