Thy Kingdom Come
TKC is on again between Ascension and Pentecost (13-23 May) across the Anglican Communion. Its aim is to pray for people to know the saving love of God in Jesus Christ and be renewed in this suffering world. Resources are at www.thykingdomcome.global and on the Cathedral's website and we encourage you to “Pray for Five” – that is, pray from Ascension to Pentecost for five people who are not yet following Christ. An online Diocesan Beacon Event will take place on Sunday 23 May at 4pm.

Prayer Points for the Week

The World
For Columbia where mass anti-government protests continue; for Myanmar where NGOs including Amnesty International have called for an arms embargo; for strained relations between Ethiopia and Sudan, a path to peace for Afghanistan once foreign troops leave, and preservation of present women’s rights under Taliban; G7’s accusations of China’s rights abuses, and Russian’s aggression over Ukraine; for refugees from war-torn countries, hoping for peace and security elsewhere. For our world under continuing COVID effects, for Tanzania experiencing a renewed threat from a new variant; India where 46% of Covid cases worldwide have occurred amid the spiralling crisis; for people in many countries suffering flow-on effects. Give thanks for countries including ours offering assistance with medical supplies to India and the release of 29 students kidnapped in Kaduna, Nigeria.

Our City and State
We pray for the continuing conversations around COVID restrictions and its effects both here and internationally; for information and understanding regarding vaccines and vaccinations, for economic recovery, and for restoration of social interaction.
