Hello Sunshine!
There's certainly a lot of hope in the world right now. Much more so than this time last year. Yellow is the colour of confidence and optimism, no surprise that we're seeing lots of it in the shops at the moment. But do you know how to wear it?

For some, yellow can be tricky; Dame Judi Dench with her platinum hair and pink skin is rarely seen in this sunny hue and admittedly, it isn't one of her better colours. But it doesn't mean that she can't wear it. Combining yellow with a cooler contrasting colour is all that is needed.

Find out how to wear your yellow below.
Lights (Light & Delicate): Keep your look light and delicate by teaming with similar light shades.

Deeps (Deep & Strong): Your look is strong so make sure you add depth in the choice of yellow and accent colours.

Warms (Warm & Rich): You suit many shades of yellow. Mix with warm tones for maximum impact.

Cools (Cool & Contrasting): Not a natural choice but we never say never. Choose an icy yellow and wear with contrasting cooler shades.

Clears (Clear & Bright): You will always look your best in bright, vibrant colours so choose a zingy yellow and team with strong, contrasting shades.

Softs (Soft & Tonal): You look your best when you mix colours tonally. Wear similar depth shades for a very chic look.

Nude Sandal
Nude sandals are extremely versatile and will co-ordinate with many outfits. Handy if you are fortunate enough to be going on holiday this year. Choose a 'nude' that is close to your own skin tone for maximum versatility.

An added benefit of a nude sandal is that it elongates the foot, which in turn extends the length of the leg. For women with long torso and shorter legs, this is an excellent way to balance out the figure.
Bra matters
Covid-19 has changed the way that we live and as a consequence, the way that we dress. Many people find themselves enjoying a more casual style, as evidenced by the boom in leisure and fitness wear. It's no coincidence that doctors are seeing more women with breast pain than ever before. Often the reason for this is that we are choosing sports and comfort bras over proper supportive, fitted bras.

Bravissimo offers a virtual bra fitting service along with lots of great information and tips to ensure that you are wearing the correct fit.

It is always important that any breast pain is checked out by a medical professional, but do check the fit and type of the bra that you're wearing as well.

Stripe A Pose
Stripes always look fresh and are one of those trends that never date. But don't limit yourself to Breton tops because stripes come in many forms. Stripes on skirts or at the bottom of dresses draw the eye downwards, as well as balancing out broad shoulders.

if you have short legs or are petite, vertically striped trousers can create the illusion of longer legs.

Diagonal stripes confuse the eye and so are excellent for disguising parts of our body that we are self-conscious about.

And don't forget about accessories. Elevate a plain outfit with a stripy bag or scarf.
Bright Eyes
Dark circles around the eyes can develop as we age. Here are my tips to minimise them:

1. Stay hydrated by applying an eye cream morning and night. My
Eye Cream contains Green Tea which reduces the appearance of dark circles.
2. Use a primer specifically for the eye area. My
Eye Base holds shadow firmly in place and helps to prevent creasing.
3. Stay away from 'general use' concealer as it is far too heavy. Instead, opt for a
Neutral skin adjuster use it  underneath your foundation, under the eye and pat in to blend.
4. Even if you do not wear eye shadow every day, consider applying a small amount of a shade close to your skin tone. It will instantly brighten and lighten your upper lid. Choose your perfect eye shadow shade from *
the cmb range.

*eye shadows are part of the refill compact range. They can be purchased individually and are supplied with plastic covers.
Time For A Colour Review
Are the colours that you wear looking a bit off? Have you changed your hair during lockdown? I'm receiving lots of enquiries from people who have had their colours assessed in the past, but have allowed their hair colour to grow out, and are finding that their palette has changed.

Why not treat yourself to a Colour Review? Priced at £100 per person, this one-hour session includes make-up application and a review of your colour palette. Swatches in your wallet can be removed and added and additional swatch cards (containing six fabric swatches) purchased at £6.50 each.
