Dear wolf advocate:
This week the Minnesota Legislature's House and Senate Environment Conference Committee is creating a final bill that funds environmental initiatives and also includes various policy items. The Senate version of the bill currently contains a mandated wolf trophy hunt. With legal wolf killing, comes more illegal wolf killing.
We are closely monitoring this important conference committee and Howling For Wolves President and Founder Maureen Hackett is prepared to again testify against the wolf hunt. We will do everything we can to make sure it is removed from the final bill as the legislature is required to complete it's work by May 17. Members of the public can watch this committee virtually, and all the information is available here.
With our opposition and help from wolf-friendly legislators we can get this language removed from the final Environment Finance bill. To give every lawmaker the courage to defend the wolf and end wolf hunting, we need more voices at the capitol today to make this happen.
