As you may have seen by now, Row Ontario is partnering with the Canadian Sport Film Festival to premiere the rowing film A Most Beautiful Thing on May 14-16. The film will be shown virtually through the TIFF Bell Lightbox Platform and a portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go towards establishing the Row Ontario IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) Fund, which will be used to fund grants that will be awarded to community rowing club programs that support improving diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility of the sport of rowing in Ontario.
If you are interested in purchasing tickets to support this initiative, tickets start as low as $15+HST and are available until May 14th. It’s not every day that a rowing film has an opportunity to gain national exposure and the money spent on a ticket will be going to a worthy cause.
We also have an opportunity to win a new erg for the club. Row Ontario is running an erg contest, with a new Concept2 being awarded to the club members and club supporters who buy the most tickets (A formula for club size is being incorporated in the contest). Ticket purchases by non-club members also count, as long as they select GRC when purchasing the ticket.
