Baby Cara Lee and her mom, Dodie.
"Lookit my lil booties," says Cara Lee. "LOOK AT THEM."

Hi there sweet pea,

We're feeling pretty bloomin' wonderful, because our legendary 20-year live music initiative will be starting up again come Mother's Day. Yay!

What better way to celebrate the nurturing humans in your life than by treating them to good food and great music in a flowery tropical vibe? Magic will be blossoming!

This Mother's Day Sunday, Superfine's inaugural post-vaxx live-music extravaganza will showcase musicians who've long been part of Brooklyn's bluegrass and folk scene.

The fun starts at 1, when the dynamic duo of
Feral Foster and Ali Dineen take the outdoor stage and bring us their own special brand of original country and blues.

Feral (if we can call him Feral -- we think we can) is known to many as the "humble giant" who has performed in the Jalopy Theatre's weekly "
Roots n' Ruckus" variety show in Red Hook for more than a decade.

Ali teaches voice and harmony at the Jalopy. She's a dear friend of Superfine's, and we're proud to report that she's appearing here fresh from a prestigious
Helene Wurlitzer Foundation Residency in Taos, New Mexico.

Tina Lama, Philippa Thompson and Jan Bell, aka Jan Bell & The Maybelles
Meanwhile, Brooklyn musical ambassador and Superfine BFF Jan Bell spent her lockdown in the wilds of rural Indiana. Now the Brooklyn Americana Music Festival founder is back in the Big Apple and ready to rock out (or folk out, in Jan's case).

Jan's celebrating this auspicious occasion by reuniting with her beloved Maybelles, Philippa Thompson and Tina Lama. The trio will grace Superfine's outdoor stage on Mother's Day from 2 till 5. Our ears cannot WAIT to hear those angelic three-part harmonies, not to mention that washboard. (We love us some washboard.)

But wait, there's more!

On Saturday afternoon, May 29, we're going to be serving up the most DELICIOUS T-bone slider in New York City. No, it's not a lil sandwich. It's our tasty trombonist friend Jim Wildman, who'll be cooking with gas on our al fresco stage.

XOXO,

Tanya 💋 Cara Lee & Laura

P.S. Stay tuned for June, when we'll be collaborating with cool cats from all around our boho borough, in honor of summer solstice and/or the Mermaid Parade. Artists we're courting include a sea chantey-singing pirate named Scuttlebutt Stu and a Mobile Drag Performance Unit. "Sea chanteys, bikinis and high heels, dry ice, crowns ... I want it ALL!" says Tanya. We've earned it, haven't we?
