Weekly Meditation
Scripture: Colossians 3:12-17
Dear Church,
This past Sunday we began exploring principles and lessons we will need to carry with us as we imagine life after the pandemic. The first lesson was to stay connected or to abide in Jesus. Practically, how do we abide with Jesus? What does this look like in our daily lives?
Colossians 3:16 states, “Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you.” One way to stay connected to God is to meditate on God’s word. God’s word serves as a powerful reminder 1) who we are and whose we are 2) the promises of God 3) the larger story to which we belong! It is through scripture that we hear the tender love of God instructing us, pruning us, guiding us, and filling us. Scripture gives us hope when we are afraid, direction when we feel lost, and peace when we are unsure. Meditating on scripture instructs us as we journey through life. Scriptures such as Psalm 23, Proverbs 3, Isaiah 55, Romans 8, Colossians 3 are powerful starting points as we meditate on the word of God! As we begin to imagine life after, Stay connected to God by abiding in God’s word.
Blessings,
Rev. Harris
