We are excited to announce we will be partnering with EvokeAG for the Start-Up Network. The Startup Network aims to build the networks and capability of Australian agrifood startups to support adoption of new technologies on farm. 

Up to 10 successful participants will receive mentorship from industry experts, attend face-to-face workshops, a showcase pitch event and networking dinner in the heart of the Riverina, Wagga Wagga, NSW, the home of AgriFutures Australia.

Announcing the Collie CONNECT: Tech and Innovation Series


Innovation Cluster has a range of regional innovation programs providing local support to innovative businesses to promote regional economic development.

The Collie CONNECT Tech and Innovation Series is an exciting new program run by Innovation Cluster to support innovative ventures in the Collie region.

The 8-part series is open to all Collie businesses and will include entrepreneurial masterclasses, technology forums and demo days, run by experienced and engaging guest speakers.

The series is FREE to attend, although registrations for each event are essential for planning and COVID-19 compliance. Businesses may attend as little as one event or commit to all activities to capitalise on the opportunity.

Congratulations to Dr Mehdi Ravanbakhsh and Mapizy from our Harvest Alumni who received a $100k Business Research and Innovation Initiative grant for their newly released property analytics platform. Their new property analytics platform has been designed to serve the insurance, finance, and real estate markets. They have also recently signed an agreement with leading geospatial tech company, Aerometrex Limited, that allows access to its MetroMap image library for use in the property analytics platform for machine learning analysis.

Regional Investor Session + South West Angels Pitch Night

The stunning Shelter Brewery in Busselton hosted the Bayside Investor Networking Session commencing with a panel discussion with Tracie Clark from Perth Angels and Scale Investors, and Rob Davis from Enginuity and South West Angels, offering valuable insights into their angel investment experiences. South West Angels also presented a concept for a state wide regional investor network.

The session was supported by New Industries WA (Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation) and Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) as part of a Groundswell grant.

The Innovation Vouchers Program is an initiative of the WA Government’s New Industries Fund, which assists start-ups and small businesses to commercialise their ideas and innovations and expand to create jobs. Applications for the 2021 round are now open.

The program’s 
webpage has been updated to include this year’s guidelines, an informational video and the portal to apply.  Applications for the IVP close at 11am WST on Tuesday, 25 May, 2021.
