New! MHRA Update - Chloramphenicol

GMLPC have been made aware that the licensing for Chloramphenicol eye drops has changed and is currently being reviewed by MHRA

GMLPC will ensure contractors are kept updated with further information as it is made available.

Updated! Pharmacy Collect 

UPDATE: Thank you to all contractors for your participation. We are happy to announce that the vast majority of GM contractors have now signed up to deliver the service.
  • Key information for patients collecting test kits - Contractors must ensure patients collecting test kits for the first time understand a range of key points. Read more here

CIS Live Service Changes 

To improve stability of the Care Identity Service (CIS) platform, the Live CIS service will be moved to the Cloud. This is scheduled to take place between Friday 7 May (BST) 18:30 and Monday 10 May (BST) 08:00.

HEE Workforce Survey - Data Collection Has Begun

Data collection for the Health Education England (HEE) Workforce Survey has now begun (4/5/21). This will help inform future planning and investment for the community pharmacy workforce.  Find out more here.

New! GM Wide: EOI - Inhaler Technique Service
Deadline: Sunday 16th May

CHL, Bolton LPC and GM LPC are pleased to announce the relaunch of the ‘Improving Inhaler Technique through Community Pharmacy’ service which is commissioned by GMHSCP.

ALL Contractors who wish to be commissioned to deliver this service, including any previously commissioned providers, should complete the expression of interest (EOI) here by Sunday 16th May 2021.

New! Manchester - Community COVID Toolkit 

Manchester CIty Council have produced a communication's toolkit with Manchester-specific information that can be added to your social media feeds. This week's toolkit including messaging relating to testing kits, vaccinations for people aged over 42 and COVID test site closures.

New! T&G - EHC Extension Letter  

T&G have confirmed that the service specifications and PGD for stop smoking and EHC are currently under review. In the meantime, the commissioner has provided an extension letter to cover provision until the new documentation is completed.

Flu Vaccination Training - Sunday 9th May

 
Greater Manchester Healthcare Academy (GMHCA) have announced four flu vaccination training events on two different dates in May. The first session is on Sunday 9th May from 8:30 - 13:00. Book your place here

This is a free online session which will look at the latest developments around HIV, including the importance of testing. There is a total of 4 dates available. The next session is on Thursday 13th May at 12:30pm - 14:00pm.

COVID-19 Infection Control and Risk Assessments
 Important Update

There have been a number of reports that local councils are visiting pharmacies to ensure that  the premises are providing a COVID-19 safe service.

Please ensure you continue to ensure infection control measures, PPE, business continuity plans, hand washing facilities, cleaning schedules, social distancing and appropriate personal and premise risk assessments and SOPs are in place.

Pharmacy teams must do the following:

  • Check they are registered on the national portal to order more PPE – guidance on how to access the portal can be found here under ‘PPE Supplies’.
  • Update opening hours on the NHS website – guidance on closures or making changes to your opening hours can be found here. An emergency closures checklist can be found here
