The Light
We are blessed to see how God continues to move mountains in our organization -- from community partnerships to blessing others, including Krystal. Read her story below.
My name is Krystal. I was in active addiction for 20 plus years. I thought for sure that was the life I would live until death. However, God always seems to have different plans for my life. Even through my struggles and dark seasons, God’s tender mercy and grace always brought me back to His marvelous Light!
God blessed me with someone in my life who showed me His love, even though I did not feel worthy to receive it. That person introduced me to Ms. Carla with Awakenings House. The day I arrived, I had no idea how to even begin to pay rent and thought I would be asked to leave as soon as I got my foot in the door. I was then given the number for Grace Ministry of Helping Hands. They have helped me financially, but even more importantly, they introduced me to a Christian mentor. She has changed my life forever! Not only is she my Christian mentor, but she has also guided me through the 12-steps of recovery. She is someone I can call a true friend!
Grace Ministry gave me financial support for several months while I found a job and got transportation. Through their support and providing a safe, sober place to live at Awakenings House; my courage to be a part of a community is something that I am truly grateful for.

You can also shop and support The Villages of Hope. The Shops of Hope features beautiful, handmade products from a variety of non-profit organizations. All sale proceeds will go toward The Villages of Hope which offers transitional housing and healing-based programs to women survivors of sexual exploitation and substance abuse .
