EPA Oil and Natural Gas Public Listening Sessions: Registration for Speakers

EPA will hold three virtual listening sessions to take public input on the Agency’s upcoming regulations for the Oil and Natural Gas Industry. 

The listening sessions will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Eastern time over three days. Each day will focus on different stakeholder groups; however, you may register to speak on any day:

  • Tuesday, June 15, 2021: Focus on Industry and Non-Governmental Organizations
  • Wednesday, June 16, 2021: Focus on Communities, Environmental Justice Stakeholders and Tribes
  • Thursday, June 17, 2021: Focus on States, Local Governments and Small Businesses
You may register to speak on any day, even if the focus is not on your stakeholder group.

Letter to Biden: Health Groups Call for Stronger Car Standards

National health, medical and nursing organizations, including the Consortium, have sent a letter to President Biden, urging the administration to set strong, ambitious greenhouse gas and fuel efficiency standards for cars, light trucks and SUVs through at least model year 2030.

Getting to a Greener, Healthier World by 2030: Solutions from Healthcare professionals

The Journal of Climate Change and Health are planning a special issue for health care professionals to share their ideas and practices they believe will lead to a decrease in carbon emissions and/or ways to promote human health in respect to the issues created by climate change by 2030. 

They are seeking relevant original research, short communications, case reports and series for this special issue. All papers will undergo full peer review and must meet appropriate journal guidelines to be accepted. Papers must be submitted online to The Journal of Climate Change and Health by August 15, 2021 to be considered and accepted by November 15, 2021. New $5,000 award recognizes outstanding writing on business, social impact

A new non-fiction writing prize will recognize a dynamic writer who aims to ignite positive social change through published work on the theme of business and its impact on society. The $5,000 Bruce Piasecki and Andrea Masters Annual Award on Business and Society Writing seeks to inspire future generations to become catalysts for a better, more just society.

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old and have published at least one work prior to the August 15 application deadline. FIND OUT MORE>

 


Harvard Chan C-CHANGE and Putney Pre-College have launched a NEW Youth Climate Summit Fund which will provide scholarships for Youth Summits on Climate Change and Public Health this July. They are hoping to attract a diverse group of students from around the country who are engaged in climate and health issues or who have been personally impacted. Please forward this information to any high school students you know that might be interested in applying.
