Great to see the BIG smiles from our pint size U10 half field players on the weekend.

Selections news

This week there was some major selection news. Today Ben White, Steph Scott and Jessie Stewart were all selected into the U21 state teams. Amazing news and we wish them all the best in these teams.

This is on top of the selection new earlier this week that Ben White and Josh Brooks were also selected in the Australian Under 21 Men’s Hockey Squad, they will both assemble for a training camp on the Gold Coast this Sunday in the lead up to the FIH 2021 Junior Hockey World Cup.

An extended squad of 44 athletes, 9 of which are Victorians, have been selected for the week long camp that will consist of skill development and high level match competition in lieu of last year’s National Championships being cancelled because of COVID.

As we all know umpires are very important in hockey and anything that will further support umpires is a great initiative.

This week we were pleased to hear the news that KBH umpire and player Sabriah Peteson (left in the picture above) was selected to take part in the Inaugural Talented Umpire Development Program.

As a part of our Strategic Ambition, HV are dedicated to providing support and development to our officiating community. An integral piece of this is the maintenance and integration of the existing umpire pathway that was created by our dedicated umpire coaches and officiating community, into the new Strategic Ambition.

U13 Draft Camp Nominations now open

The Draft Camp is a development program, as well as a selection event, for athletes to get into the HV U13 Academy for 2021.
Further details can be read here This include some information about teams not being selected last year and therefore no auto entry into particular teams.

No experience necessary to volunteer in the canteen. The canteen will be open Friday nights, Saturday mornings/afternoons/evenings. Sunday mornings/afternoons.

Masters
The Men's Masters Squads were selected last week. We are still working on compiling the list of Brumbies that were selected, there are so many. Stay tuned for the entire list of Brumbies selected shortly. Women's masters trials are coming up this month so stay tuned for more information.

Family Day was a hit

Elgar Park was packed to the rafters last Saturday, including also at the inflatables! Fantastic to see so many Brumbies enjoying their time socialising, enjoying the outdoors and watching hockey. Thankyou to all those volunteers who made the day run so smoothly.

As always Noel Kelly was ready with camera to catch all the action.

Register for the 2021 season

REGISTRATION AND FEES 2021- PLEASE REGISTER.

Registrations are now open and can be accessed through the KBH Brumbies website https://kbhbrumbies.org.au/registration/

Some things to remember:

Hockey Victoria and Hockey Australia subs are included in the KBH fee so that you will not need to navigate 2 different websites

Please Note KBH Playing fees are due before the season begins, without HV/HA registration you will be ineligible to play. The season begins in April for Seniors and May for Juniors which should give you plenty of time to think about payment.

In order to streamline and solidify accounting procedures, coaching payments, umpire reimbursements etc will be made throughout the year at set times rather that fees being subsidised up front.

For those that struggle to pay all fees up front or are suffering financial hardship, payment plans are available. Please email the registrar on registrar@kbhbrumbies.org.au to arrange this and instructions will be given as to how to proceed. A $100 deposit ($50 for Juniors) plus HV/HA levy is required up front, and then you will be invoiced for a payment in early May and then early June for final payment.

There will also be the option for players looking at playing casually, again, instructions for these players will be given once contact has been made with the registrar. Casual rates are $30/game for seniors and masters, and $25/game for full time students playing seniors. Players will be invoiced for games played half way through and at the end of the season. In the instance where more than 10 games have been played, full fees will apply.

There are still changes occurring this wee to game times. As always check online for you teams match details online HERE. We will release a copy of the junior, senior and masters fixtures on our social media channel late friday afternoon and on sunday for masters.
