The pandemic has sparked a start-up boom in the UK: 221,000 new businesses were incorporated in the third quarter of last year - the highest figure of the past decade. The trend is continuing, with 211,000 incorporations in the first three months of 2021.
Yet entrepreneurs do not always have equal access to the resources necessary to be successful, according to a report in Harvard Business Review. It reveals that, in the US, black women are more likely to start a business than white men, but are significantly less likely to run an established business.
