Final Middle School Model UN Update!

The last week of Middle School Model UN sessions is here! On Wednesday, there will be 3 mini-sessions at St. Raphael the Archangel. The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes are working separately at these sessions to solve a multitude of problems including issues like torture in Russian prisons and infant mortality in Afghanistan. (There might be another session on Friday too, we're still working out the details.)

Overall, there have been more than 10 sessions this year with over 800 student delegates collaborating on world issues. WOW!

The resolutions for all General Assembly Sessions are posted on the Middle School Hub.

Advocating for Gun Safety

Every single day we wake up to another news story of a gun shooting in our city and/or in our country. Like most Americans, you might be wondering what is being done to stop the violence. Join Civitas and UNA-STL next Wednesday evening, May 19, for a virtual discussion on the topic of gun violence in the St. Louis region with a local representative from Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement that advocates for increased public safety measures to create a culture of responsible gun ownership. The event will begin at 6:00 pm and last an hour.

Picture of the Week

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden met with former President Jimmy Carter and former first lady Rosalyn Carter at the Carters' home in Plains, Georgia, on Thursday, April 29. The photo grabbed people's attention because of what appeared to be a significant size difference between the two couples. While many experts theorized that it was the result of a wide-angle lens, Adam Schultz, the chief official White House photographer, declined to explain when reached by the New York Times Adam Schultz/The White House
