The 2021 Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and Point-in-Time (PIT) count data must be submitted via HUD’s Homelessness Data Exchange (HDX) web portal by Friday, May 14, 2021 at 8:00 PM EDT.
NOTE: These reports will not be submitted through the new HDX 2.0, but will instead be submitted through the original HDX “1.0.” Please be sure you are visiting the correct site and updating your credentials there. The two sites do not share passwords, so you will need to maintain/update two separate passwords – one for each site.
Meeting the data submission deadline for the HIC and PIT count has historically been a factor considered by HUD in the annual CoC Program Competition. CoCs should consider the amount of time it may take to compile and enter information needed to meet the 2021 reporting requirements.

Guidance on collecting and entering HIC and PIT count data via the HDX is available for download from the PIT and HIC Guides, Tools, and Webinars page on the HUD Exchange website. Also see:
Questions?
If you have any questions about the HIC or PIT count data submissions process, including issues with submitting the data in HDX 1.0, please visit the Ask A Question (AAQ) portal.
To submit a question to the HDX AAQ portal, select “HDX Homelessness Data Exchange (including AHAR, HIC, LSA, PDX, PIT, Stella, Sys PM)” from the “My question is related to” dropdown list on Step 2 of the question submission.
SNAPS Mailing List Subscription
SNAPS is now using two different listservs to communicate competition and program updates:
- Subscribe to the HUD.gov listserv for information developed by HUD/SNAPS regarding the CoC program, ESG program, YHDP, Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs) developed by SNAPS, and any other information related to SNAPS programs and the work to end homelessness.
- Subscribe to the HUD Exchange listserv for information and guidance produced by HUD technical assistance providers regarding SNAPS programs.
HUD recommends SNAPS grantees and interested stakeholders remain subscribed to the HUD Exchange mailing list in addition to subscribing to the new HUD.gov mailing lists. Please communicate this information to your homeless organizations, local government contacts, and other interested stakeholders.
