LIFE @ St. Anne's - 5/7/2021

Hi <<First Name>>, welcome to LIFE @ St. Anne's. We hope this will help you keep up with all the happenings here at St. Anne's.  Have blessed week.

At present we see only puzzling reflections in a mirror, but one day we shall see face to face. My knowledge know is partial then it will be whole like God’s knowledge of me.

1 Corinthians 13:12                                                                                                                                                      (Revised English Bible)

Bob Tucker's Celebration of Life –This Saturday, May 8 @ 11:00  The service will be live streamed for those who want to join from home.

MOVE IN DAY – May 16 – we will move back into our church building for Sunday worship services.  There will be some protocols to follow.  Watch for a dedicated email with all the information.

Prayers of the People – we have added a lot of names for healing and guidance over the winter months.  Please take a look at the list and if you know any of the people on the list whose specific needs have been met, let Toni know and we will move their names from the list.

Contact information -   A number of folks have completed the information for the new church directory, but a number have not.  Please click on this link  Church Directory form and complete the information so you can be included.  Don't want to be included?  click the link and let us know so we don't bug you.  There is even a way to attach a picture to include in the directory.

Website – the St. Anne’s website is getting a face-lift.  You may find certain things different or not working as usual.  It is a work in progress and will be up and going soon.  Anyone who has had trouble with the donation link, it is now working.

Plastic Bags – A new bin has been set outside the church for the collection of plastic grocery bags.  Meg knows a woman who crochets them into mats for the homeless.  If you have more plastic bags than you need please drop them off at the church.

Giving Sunday There is a  collection bin for donations to Hillcrest & St. Michael’s pantry at the church, outside the front.  You can swing by and drop off your donations and the bin will be checked weekly.  If you have donations to make and need someone to come by, Toni (816.289.9820) would be happy to swing by and make a pick-up.
St. Michael’s Necessity Pantry – needs are Shaving cream,

Our community is always in need, check below to see how you can help. If you're interested in starting up a ministry to address a need in the community please see Meg.

Hillcrest - Hillcrest is a transitional housing program for people who need a helping hand. St. Anne's sponsors an apartment for this program in partnership with St. Paul's Lee's Summit. Occasionally there is a need for supplies or volunteers to clean. The Hillcrest ministry is in need of items for their pantry. A list is above the white basket by the table in the Narthex.

St. Michael’s Pantry - St. Michael’s, Independence, hosts a necessity pantry providing a variety personal care items for those in our community needing assistance. This pantry can always use donations of men’s and women’s toiletry and personal hygiene items as well as dish soap and laundry detergent. Any donations should be left in the baskets located in the Narthex. The Pantry operates form 10a-2p the 1st and 3rd  Wednesday of each month.

BackSnack - St. Anne's BackSnack ministry fills 60 backpacks each week with packets of non- perishable food for children at Lee's Summit Elementary. The food is provided by Harvester's and delivered to our church by Episcopal Community Services.

Nourish KC (Formerly Episcopal Community Services) – The purpose of Nourish KC is both in feeding the hungry, and empowering the poor to move beyond the barriers of poverty with dignity through education and job training. If you are interested in participating or supporting this ministry see the dates below. For more information check out their website: http://episcopalcommunity.diowestmo.org/
