Peace with Others Series
SORRY, NOT SORRY Accepting responsibility & true apologies
Proverbs 28:13,  2 Corinthians 7:9-10,  1 John 1:8
We continue personal peacemaking in our Peace with Others Series by revealing the rarest speech in North America—true apology. People know how to judge and cancel but to apologize and move into conciliation? That is rare. This is the speech of a beloved community Dr. Martin Luther King believed was necessary for all to have freedom. We need Jesus’ teaching and Spirit at work. Join us as we look at accepting responsibility.

As a young and growing network, we continue to experience how the centred-set paradigm – with Jesus at the centre – offers a peaceful counterpunch to the tension and polarization of our cultural moment. It’s a real-life way for us and the communities we lead to unite around our common focus on Jesus, even amidst our differences.
So it’s no surprise that our latest Theology Circle blog post is called Centred-Set Unity: How Jesus at the Centre Changes Everything. You can check out some great insights from our friends Adam Dyer, Natalie Frisk, and Edem Morny here.

Operation Baby Bottle
Pilgrim has been a supporter of this ministry for years now and we encourage you to participate this year. "Fill" a baby bottle for $20. To give above and beyond your regular church support, use the same means of giving but indicate "X" amount for OBB.
For example, if you use giving@pilgrimchurch.ca, write in the note: $150 general fund/regular, $20 OBB and then email $170 total to the church. Use the "notes" section for e-tranfer/PayPal or the memo line on your cheque.

30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World
April 13 - May 12, 2021
Christians learning about and praying for the Muslim world during their holy month of Ramadan. You can learn more and follow the daily prayers here: https://www.30daysprayer.com/
The Night of Power
We are nearing the end of Ramadan. May 8 is a significant date on the Ramadan calendar; the night of May 9 is called Lailat al Qadr (Night of Power). For Muslims, it commemorates the night in which their prophet Mohammed began to receive content from an angelic messenger for their holy book, called the Qur’an.
During this night of celebration and thanksgiving for the Qur’an, Muslims try to stay awake and study the book. Many also hope that they may obtain forgiveness for their sins.
Many Christians around the world organize to especially pray for Muslims during that same night that God may reveal Jesus to them. Some church groups are even organizing online Zoom gatherings.
Greet Muslims
It is appropriate for Christians who meet Muslims to wish them “Ramadan Mubarak” which roughly translates to “Happy Ramadan.” Also, on the last day of Ramadan, which is Eid-al-Fitr (the start of the three-day Festival of Breaking the Fast) it is fitting to wish Muslims “Eid Mubarak.”
NAIITS - An Indigenous Learning Community
Did you know that the North American Baptist Seminary (AKA Kairos Project, Sioux Falls Seminary, Taylor Seminary) is a sponsor for the NAIITS!?
NAIITS an Indigenous Learning Community (formerly the North American Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies) is one of two members of Indigenous Pathways (IP), a nonsectarian, non-profit organization dedicated to working together with the Indigenous community. NAIITS’ focus within IP is the development and articulate of Indigenous perspectives in theology and practice. We encourage Indigenous learning styles and world views in our instruction as we facilitate the development of a body of work addressing biblical, theological, and ethical issues from Indigenous perspectives. NAIITS currently has five degree program partnerships offering graduate, and post-graduate degree or award programs.
