Raising Kids for a Just World
It is a complex time to be a parent. Our climate is in crisis, and economic inequality is deepening. Racialized violence is spreading, and school shootings are escalating.
How do we, as parents, cultivate in our children a love of the earth, a cry for justice, and a commitment to nonviolence?
Where do we place our bodies so we teach our kids that resistance is crucial and change is possible?
What practices do we hold as a family to encourage them to work with their hands, honor their hearts, and nurture their spirits?

From CUUB's Board of Trustees
CUUB Ministry
Regarding this past weekend's vote and CUUB's next steps regarding ministry:
On Thursday night, the Board, several members of the Search Team, Reverend Julie, and several congregants joined a meeting with our UUA Congregational Life Consultant Lisa Presley to discuss our disappointments, feelings, and hopes for CUUB.
As a result, and with advice of the UUA, the Board will search for and seek to hire an interim minister. Fortunately this is a relatively brief activity, so please keep an ear out for status updates.
Congregational Meeting is Sunday May 16th
Join us for our annual meeting after services. We will vote on new members to the board, nominating committee and the budget for next year. Please plan on staying with us after service to do this important work for CUUB.

A message from the Howell Carnegie Library:
The recording of the Learning From Our Past to Create a Better Future with the Livingston Diversity Council presentation is now on YouTube! It is available on the Library's YouTube channel.
If you haven't already, we would appreciate it if you could please fill out our online evaluation for this program. It should only take a few minutes and it helps us greatly to plan future programming tailored to our community and patrons--you!
Thanks again for your interest in the Library and our events. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, we'd love to hear them.
Enjoy!
