What is up! Daren here. Congratulations on making it to another month of THREE - THING - THURSDAY! (say it like the epic movie voice guy) The most exciting newsletter that tries to make you a better overall human via endurance sports and self-improvement.

In this edition I'll show you why saying no, my endurance back story and fat burning mysteries are helpful and pretty damn cool. Let's jump right in!

(Side note - If you're liking this or anything I've sent before, feel free to forward this email or share this link with someone that would appreciate "things" like this)

1. Learn how to use my endurance sports back story to train smarter

This was a fun episode cross release from my first podcast CBD Radio. It’s based on the how and why I got into endurance sports and in particular running and the benefits I reaped from it. All stemming from my curiosity around running faster with the least amount of energy.

You'll learn;

  • My history into endurance training and a fear of running cross country in short shorts
  • Intermittent fasting and low carb cycling around running and removal of the hazy cloud in my brain
  • My obsession with consistent long and sustainable gains and how you can get them too
  • And more!

Listen here on the website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and a bunch of others, or search "DLake Creates backstory" in your favorite podcast player.

2. You need to say no and use essentialism to perform better.

In this post, you’ll learn how to say no more, and use essentialism thinking. We’ll also apply the 80.20 principle in your endurance sports training.

This will serve as a gateway to living a more intentional life through your habits, sensory diet, and self-accountability.

When you think about it, endurance sports are a direct metaphor for life. Same, Same. We all want to get a faster race time, obtain that summer beach body, and/or make more money. I’ve found through my own research, trial, and error that a focused and intentional plan for your health and fitness is the best way to get results.

3. When you burn fat... where does it go?

With that same summer beach body and race weight mentality approaching soon for most people, I think this is a very timely question - where does that fat go when you burn it?!

I actually didn't even think about the answer to this question until I saw this video. If you don't know the answer before watching, don't worry - more than 50% of doctors, dieticians/nutritionists, and personal trainers when surveyed didn't know exactly what happened either.

Watch this quick 2-minute video to find the answer.
