Esperance Shire President Ian Mickel said NVM gave everyone a chance to acknowledge, celebrate and thank volunteers for the vital role they play in our lives.

“Volunteers are so important to our community, without them a lot of things just wouldn’t get done,” he said.

“From P&C groups to the emergency services, Esperance’s volunteers are absolutely essential to making our town operate.

“I hope everyone gets a chance to head down to take part in some of the activities planned throughout the week.”

Shire of Esperance CEO Shane Burge said the activities would be an opportunity for volunteers from across various organisations and disciplines to connect.

“Offering these fun activities for our volunteers is just a small way we can show support and gratitude for their sacrifices,” he said.

“There’s an activity for everyone, so be sure to come along and take part.”
